| For the month of November the EMS Division handled 119 calls for service. First due -101 calls
Pumper Tanker 403 - 8 calls November's companywide EMS training was on Environmental Emergencies: Heat and Cold. The training was taught by guest lecturer Dr Tyler McCardell from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. Individually, several members continued progressing through crew chief training, driver training, completed annual continuing education for certification and participated in impromptu skill labs during duty shifts throughout the month. For the month of November there was one companywide fire training. Training this month was specifically focused around our driver/operators. Our drivers we put through scenarios which included tasks such as driving through a cone course, maneuvering real world obstacles in a business parking lot, and proper positioning and operation of each apparatus (Engine, Pumper Tankers and Tower). In addition to calls and training, November provided several opportunities for community engagement events including a public education day at a local Amish school, a show and tell/training opportunity with Hand in Hand Fire Company as we serve as the primary EMS agency for most of the fire district, and a all you can eat breakfast fundraiser held at our Kinzer station. |
