Pumper Tanker 403 - 5 calls May's companywide EMS training was a presentation on OB Emergencies with focus around complications that may present in delivery & home births to include: prolapse cord, hemorrhage, and breach birth. Individually, several members continued progressing through crew chief training, driver training, completed annual continuing education for certification and participated in impromptu skill labs during duty shifts throughout the month. This month we also finished up our inhouse EMT class. All 23 students completed and passed their final exam for the class making them eligible for graduation! After graduation they all moved on to their national registry testing. We are happy to report all 23 passed their national registry skills exam and 15 have already taken and passed their written exam and are certified EMTS. Additionally, we are very excited to announce that 17 of the students have joined our organization to volunteer with our company and we anticipate a few more of the remaining 6 to join as well!
