In September no companywide EMS training was held due to Labor Day. Individually, several members continued progressing through crew chief training, driver training, completed annual continuing education for certification and participated in impromptu skill labs during duty shifts throughout the month.

For the month of September were three fire training. All three trainings were focused around engine company work.

September was a very busy month for community relations. The EMS division provided standby coverage at five events, including Pequea Valley High School football games, the Bird-in-Hand 5K, the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon, and the Bank of Bird-in-Hand Customer Picnic. The Fire division also provided standby coverage for Columbia Borough Fire Department, allowing its members to take the day off to support one of their fundraising events. In addition, members attended the housing ceremony for Gap Fire Company’s new ladder truck as well as both the Fire and EMS divisions participated in Cherry Crest Adventure Farm’s Hometown Heroes event, providing an opportunity to connect with the community and showcase our services.

In the month of September we hosted two fundraising events. The first was our breakfast buffet at our Kinzer station and the second was our Fall sale at our Gordonville station.
