PVFD had two company wide EMS training In March. The first was Nebulizer Training. PVFD's medical director recently approved our EMTs to start administering nebulizer treatments. Nebulizers are commonly used to treat patients with conditions such as Asthma and COPD. The second training was a review of a new system we are implementing with our staff called HandTevy. Handtevy is a revolutionary pediatric resuscitation system that combines customization, consultation, education and organization to empower healthcare providers to rapidly and accurately respond to any pediatric call with ease. The Handtevy is the first-of-its-kind customized and age-based system that results in fewer medical errors, increased patient safety and renewed provider confidence.
Several Fire trainings were handle this month which included a review our of new Seagrave Tanker before we put it in service early March, Farm/Industrial Rescue where our crews handled a scenario or someone trapped in a skid loader, the Tower spent a night at Lafayette Fire Company doing a review for the East Lampeter Township Fire Departments as our Tower is due on the initial dispatch for structure fires to a large portion of the Township, a "rookie night" where the evening was spending focusing on our juniors and probationary members getting their skills focused refined for tasks they may be assigned on calls, and several nights and a Saturday were spent at an acquired structure donated to the company where multiple topics were covered between and Engine and Truck skills.
March also brought two fundraising events for PVFD. The first was an all you can eat pancake breakfast that was held our our Kinzers station on Saturday March 1st. The second was our annual Spring Sale was held on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th |
